Could it really be meningitis?

The only way to be certain and rule out meningitis is to see a physician. If you are concerned about meningitis or encephalitis go to an emergency room and be checked out. That will give you peace of mind. If it was the nasty meningococcal meningitis you would have collapsed by now after two weeks so thats not likely. Go to the doctor anyway.
