Frozen chicken good for meals,or are fresh the only option.?

Frozen chicken will work too. Most of the chicken you buy in store is previously frozen anyway. For a stew, you don't even really need to thaw the chicken first before cooking. *unless it is a whole chicken with giblet which will need to be removed from cavity before cooking
