Am i doing the right thing?

i am in the air force dep and i wont see my contract for 6-8months and I've been doing a lot of thinking and i really don't want to wait that long and also i think the army would give me better training and a better sense of urgency and also i would rank faster but idk can you guys give me some of you opinions?
