Lumps in 47/wo?

My mother is 47 and has been experiencing pain in the outer part of her left . She has had her period a few days ago. She can't tell if there are bumps or they are not significant or hard. She has awoken before at night because of the pain. These few days her temper has been bad and she has felt tired. Is she going to have menopause?
